Although a town rich in history, Market Harborough has plenty of newer activities for the youngsters too.

Foxton Locks

Okay, okay, Rosie and Jim might only be a memory for the adults but canal boats in full flow is still a sight to behold for youngsters. Foxton Locks is the perfect family day out and we recommend all of our visitors, whatever the age group, take a trip there.

Welland Park

Harborough’s award-winning park is a hub of activity through spring and summer. With a playground, tennis courts, outdoor gym, table tennis, idyllic walks, Skate Park and a café, whether you want to get active or chill out with a book, the option’s yours. Bliss!

Wicksteed Park

Within Wicksteed Park, there is plenty to occupy your children: rides, attractions and play areas – to name just a few. The family-friendly theme park has over 30 rides and attraction including roller coasters, race cars, Rocky River rides and a more gentle boat trip around the lake. Take your pick! The park is only a 30-minute drive from the centre of Market Harborough.

Harborough Museum

If you’re looking to get a taste of the history of the town, Market Harborough Museum will fill in all of the blanks. As well as the insightful facts for adults, there are displays to entertain the children too including a collection of 17th-century toys and a reconstructed boot and shoemakers workshop.

Soft play at Mini Mischiefs

If the weather isn’t on your side, why not take your youngsters to Market Harborough’s soft play area Mini Mischiefs. It has an exciting multi-level soft play area that reaches a massive 5.5-meter height. There’s also a dedicated built-in baby area and toddler area for little ones and a café where you can enjoy a well-earned cup of tea and relax!

Wistow Maze

Typically open between mid-July and the beginning of September, If you’re visiting us in the summer season, Wistow Maze is a must. The maze is the winner of Leicestershire’s Best Visitor Attraction, and for good reason! The 8 acres of living maize crop is redesigned each year so you’ll never do the same trail twice. In 2019, the maze was an astronaut. What will it be next year?
